The driver of a box delivery truck was seriously injured late Tuesday afternoon in a crash in Towamensing Township.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. as the driver was traveling south on Forest Inn Road and possibly lost control in the intersection with Stagecoach Road West.
The vehicle entered the southwest corner of the intersection, jumping a ditch then entering a lawn where it traveled until it hit and uprooted a tree.
The driver was trapped, with members of the Trachsville and Aquashicola fire companies freeing him from the wreckage. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a trauma center.
State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
