TaQuan Bradley-Chambers scored three touchdowns and rushed for 207 yards to lead Lehighton to a 36-14 victory over Jim Thorpe in a District 11 Class 3A semifinal game Saturday night.
Cody Scherer added 184 yards rushing and 102 yards passing to help the Indians (12-0) reach the district final for the second time in three years.
"He's been doing that the whole season, especially the last half of the season," Lehighton head coach Tom McCarroll said of Bradley-Chambers, who also eclipsed 2,000 yards rushing for the season in the game. "It seems like he rises to the occasion. The bigger the game, the bigger he plays.
"And then when you have a nice complement with Cody Scherer, it's a pretty tough 1-2 punch."
CJ Selby rushed for 124 yards and scored both of Jim Thorpe's touchdowns.
The Olympians finished the season 10-2.
"I'm very proud of our kids," said Jim Thorpe head coach Mark Rosenberger. "Our kids fought their tails off all season long, all night tonight. I couldn't be more proud of a bunch of guys than I am of these guys tonight."
Lehighton will face top seed Palisades Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium. The Pirates defeated Notre Dame Green Pond 42-8 in the other semifinal Saturday night.
