Lehighton State Police report on incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• James Silvers, 42, of Slatington, was charged on Sept. 25 at 10:32 a.m. after he struck a 57-year-old man from Lehighton in the face multiple times causing serious injuries to the victim’s face. The incident occurred along Lauchnor Grove Lane in East Penn Township, Carbon County.

Silvers was charged with simple assault - bodily injury.

• On Sept. 21 at 7:49 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Vixen Drive in Polk Township, Monroe County, where a 35-year-old woman from Kresgeville reported a trespassing incident. As a result troopers said Tristan Thenier, 25, of Kunkletown, was cited for trespassing.

• On Sept. 4 at 10:46 p.m. troopers stopped a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt at Route 248 and White Street, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. The driver, a 45-year-old man from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI of a controlled substance. During the stop troopers also found the suspect to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Sept. 22 at 2:16 p.m. a 2004 Pontiac was stopped at Harrity Road and Pohopoco Drive in Franklin Township, Carbon County. Upon contact with the driver, a 35-year-old man from Weissport, who troopers declined to identify, it was learned he had an active mental health warrant for his arrest. A probable cause search was conduct of the vehicle and found was suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, packaging materials, scales and drug paraphernalia, all of which were seized.

He was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Nesquehoning.
