St. Luke’s University Health Network announces the opening of the new St. Luke’s Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology in Palmerton.

St. Luke’s is committed to providing quality health care, including specialty services, to residents of Carbon County. With the addition of the new Diabetes & Endocrinology Center, the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options will be provided for individuals with diabetes or prediabetes, living in the Palmerton and Lehighton region.

Catherine Morrow, CRNP, treats patients with Type I and Type II Diabetes, thyroid diseases, adrenal diseases, pituitary diseases and some ovarian and testes diseases, as well as osteoporosis coupled with calcium and parathyroid deficiencies.

“I am fortunate to have met so many wonderful people from Carbon County who have traveled to see us. I’m thrilled we now have the opportunity to bring them quality care closer to home,” says Morrow.

Because diseases of the endocrine system affect multiple areas of the body, the team at St. Luke’s Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology work closely with nephrologists, cardiologists, surgeons, neurosurgeons, nuclear medicine, primary care physicians, radiologists, diabetes educators and nutritionists to provide comprehensive care for their patients.

A certified diabetes educator is also on staff at the new St. Luke’s Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology. Kim Campbell, works with individuals to develop a plan for managing their diseases and staying healthy. The added support from a certified diabetes educator can often be the extra tool to help patients achieve nutrition, fitness and self-management goals.
