State police are investigating a fatal accident in Route 80 near Tannersville in Monroe County just before 5 a.m. Sunday.

In addition to the fatality, five people were transported to Lehigh Valley Health Network Pocono for treatment of injuries.

Route 80 was closed from the Route 380 exit to the Bartonsville exit.
