A man wanted in connection with a kidnapping incident that began in Berks County and led into Schuylkill County earlier this month has been apprehended in Wyoming.
State police at Reading said the suspect, Marshall Glenn McGinty, 43, was arrested without incident by Casper, Wyoming, police, in a parked Honda Fit at the East Side Mall Walmart.He was arrested on Wednesday. The Honda is the vehicle of the victim in the kidnapping incident.The incident occurred on Feb. 16 when McGinty entered a residence in the 1300 block of Hawk Mountain Road, in Albany Township. The victim was house sitting at the residence.When he came home around 4:45 p.m. McGinty was in the house. Upon entering the home McGinty pointed an assault rifle, an AK -47, at the victim and ordered him to lay on the floor face down.McGinty tied the victim's wrists together and took his wallet and keys. Sometime around 6 p.m. McGinty drove the victim in his car to a Santander Bank branch office at 120 S. Centre Ave., in Pottsville, where he withdrew $60 from the victim's account.After going to the bank McGinty drove back to the Hamburg reservoir where he cut the victim's hands free and drove off in the victim's car.The AK-47 is the property of the homeowner, troopers said.At the time of the incident the police report stated McGinty should be considered armed and dangerous.McGinty is facing charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, robbery, criminal trespass, theft, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
