State police at Frackville are investigating a stabbing incident in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said at 7 a.m. on Sept. 1 they received a call about a man that was stabbed and laying on the sidewalk in the area of 200 E. Main St., Girardville. It was reported the man was conscious but was having difficulty breathing.

The man was located by troopers and identified as Christopher J. Kraemer, 33, of Girardville. It was determined that an unknown suspect stabbed Kraemer in the back while he was walking on the street. The suspect then fled the scene.

The police report did not indicate if Kraemer received medical treatment.
