Tuesday also served as the first day back in the classroom for many students in the Palmerton Area School District.
“The first day of school went very well, and there were no major issues,” said Dr. Jodi Frankelli, Palmerton superintendent.
The elementary, middle and high schools are all on a hybrid schedule with half of the students attending in person on Monday and Tuesday, and the other half in school Wednesday and Thursday. All students attend school virtually on Friday.
“I visited all of the schools, and the teachers and students were all practicing social distancing and wearing face coverings,” Frankelli said. “We appreciate parents conducting the daily wellness screening on their children each morning so that we can maintain the health and safety of all students and staff members.”
Parents also had the option of a five-day virtual schedule for their child or enrolling them in the Blue Bomber Cyber Academy.
“Our technology department worked very hard to address any computer-related issues that were brought to our attention from teachers and parents,” Frankelli said. “Overall it was a great first day.”
