Trinity Highlights

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, Sunday worship 9:30 a.m., in the parking lot situated behind the building. Attendees are requested to remain in their vehicles. The sound is broadcast over FM 87.9. For those who choose to bring a lawn chair and sit on the lawn, ushers will provide assistance designated for social distancing. Please wear a face mask for your safety and for those around you. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides.

Since there are limited parking spaces and lawn size, a reservation is required on a weekly basis by the end of business hours each Thursday at 610-377-4303 or email telc1872@ptd.net. Worship bulletins will be printed according to the number of reservations received, and distributed upon entering the parking lot. A restroom in Luther Hall is accessible during the worship time; mask required upon entering the building. A basket to receive offerings is provided.

The Sunday morning worship will be posted on facebook.com/TrinityLehighton after the live session has concluded.

Sunday school sessions return weekly Sept. 13 at 10:45 a.m., with Rally Day activities for students age 3 though sixth grade in the outdoor parking lot. The tradition continues as fourth graders will each receive a Bible. The delayed-since-May Rite of Confirmation will be Oct. 25. Drive-thru classes to complete the confirmands’ instructions begin Sept. 20.

The ministries of Trinity church have not closed. The in-person indoor church activities are paused due to continued concerns regarding COVID-19 safety. The Thrift Store shall remain closed until the staff can safely open the store under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Donations of household items are not being accepted at this time. Plans for a safe opening are underway.

“Harvest Home Sunday” has traditionally been set aside to honor farmers following their harvests and appreciate the abundance of their labors. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Trinity Pantry is not accepting any food donations at this time. If you are able, please consider making a monetary donation using your Harvest Home envelope that is included in your September/October packet of contribution envelopes. If you do not have a designated envelope, you may place a donation in a plain envelope and mark it “Harvest Home.”

The Food Pantry continues to be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday 5:30-7 p.m.) with a drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pickup. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
