Lehighton wants to add a full-time police officer to fill out its ranks.

The Lehighton Borough Civil Service Commission will administer an entry level examination to fill a vacancy for police officer and to update the Civil Service list.

The examination will take place at 9 a.m. Sept. 12. The physical agility testing and oral interviews will be administered at later dates.

In February, borough council approved the retirement of longtime police officer Neal Ebbert.
