Get ready to play bingo.

The Times News will launch its coverall bingo game on Saturday, with the bingo card inserted into the newspaper.

Numbers will be featured in the paper every day through Nov. 20 to cut out and tape or paste on cards.

Coverall means that all the numbers must be matched.

“The bingo game is popular normally, but I think it might even become more popular this year,” said Jennifer Benninger, advertising director. “It’s an activity that anyone can do to have a little fun and keep track of.”

Times News offices are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s strongly encouraged to mail in the completed bingo cards.

“We will have collection boxes in vestibules for people to drop their cards,” said Jennifer Rowden, marketing director. “We are remaining as contactless as possible. If they do need a number that they were missing, they do have to call one of the offices to make arrangements, because nobody can walk into the office the way they did last year to get those numbers.”

The contest will run until Nov. 20. Finalized bingo cards must be submitted to the Times News by Nov. 29 or postmarked Nov. 27.

“This is multigenerational,” Rowden said. “A lot of grandchildren play with their grandparents. It’s an activity everyone looks forward to when the paper arrives. We even had people in a neighborhood trade numbers to help each other out. We actually got letters of thanks in some bingo cards which was very nice.”

A drawing to determine the 25 finalists will be on Dec. 1. Each finalist will be contacted by the Times News for additional steps. The grand prize is $1,000.

“The grand-prize drawing will be on Zoom, not in person,” Benninger said. “We’re going to be at the Lehighton Outdoor Center on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. We will have everyone on a Zoom call to pick a winner. We are picking 25 finalists from all of the completed cards that we received. They’ll receive an invitation for the grand party meeting.”
