Four people were seriously injured Thursday night when involved in a crash along Route 209 in Polk Township.

The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. just about in front of the Polk township fire company. Air medical helicopters were requested to the scene but were denied due to the weather.

Three of the trauma patients were transported by ground to the Pocono Lehigh Valley hospital in East Stroudsburg  while another was transported to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.  State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
