Local Farmer’s Insurance agent Jamie Greenzweig, back, right, has a monthly program where she provides $100 in school supplies to a teacher selected at random. The most recent award went to Mrs. Jolene Barron’s third-grade math class at Tamaqua Elementary School. Students displaying the goodies bought with the award are Emily Beltz, Kenny Bailey, Molly Evans and Austin Schaeffer. There are no preconditions to receiving the monetary awards, Greenzweig says, “It’s our way of giving back to educators.” In addition, Farmers Insurance awards $1 million in grants annually to teachers throughout the country as part of the Thank America’s Teachers program.
