Road work for this week

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announces the following road work this week, but be advised that road work schedules may change as needed during COVID-19 mitigation or due to changes in the weather:

Northing reported for Northampton or Schuylkill counties.

Carbon County

• Penn Forest/Kidder townships: Route 930/Highway to Adventure lane restriction between Harrity Road and Monroe County line, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.

• Penn Forest: Route 534 lane restriction with flagging between Meckesville Road and Route 903, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

• Lower Towamensing: Route 248 inspection between Route 873 and Palmerton Borough, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Wednesday.

• Kidder and Penn Forest townships: North Old Stage Road lane restrictions with flagging for core boring work between Henning Road and Route 534, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday.

Lehigh County

• Salisbury: I-78 West lane restriction westbound between Exit 57 (Lehigh Street) and Exit 55 (Route 29), 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. through Wednesday; I-78 East lane restriction eastbound between Exit 55 (Route 29) and Exit 57 (Lehigh Street), 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on Thursday and Friday.

• Upper Macungie Township: Route 22 West construction between I-78 and Kuhnsville Exit, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday. Westbound lane restrictions for concrete pavement patching.

This work is part of the ongoing Route 22 rehabilitation project.

• South Whitehall Township: Route 22 at the Turnpike Exit, milling and paving between Route 309 and Kunhsville Exit, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., through Oct. 16.

Monroe County

• Middle Smithfield Township: Lower Lakeview Road lane restriction for side dozing also on Route 209, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

• Delaware Water Gap Borough: Interstate 80 East, between Exit 309 (Route 209) and Exit 310 (Delaware Water Gap), utility work. There will be several short-term, 15 minute traffic stoppage/rolling roadblock to facilitate emergency aerial wire crossing. Please use caution and expect delays. 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.
