A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI), and other counts following an incident that occurred about 2:22 p.m. on Sept. 10 along SR100 at the Trexlertown bypass in Lower Macungie Township.
State police at Fogelsville said Craig A. Turton, 56, of Slatington, was stopped on 100 at Spring Creek Road, in a 2012 Ford E450 van when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2008 Mazda driven by Kimberly J. Bobenich, 45, of Macungie.After impact Bobenich fled the scene followed by Turton and another witness, troopers said. She was finally stopped by Turton and another witness that blocked her on Foxglrove Place ad Astor Road. Troopers were then called to the scene.Bobenich was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Lehigh County DUI Center for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.Troopers did charge her with following too closely.
