Concourse Club hosts annual art, photography show

It’s going to be a busy weekend in Palmerton.

Not only will the community festival be taking place, but on Saturday and Sunday, The Concourse Club of Palmerton will be putting on its annual art and photography show at Sacred Heart Church on Lafayette Avenue.

And there’s still time to submit your work.

There are two divisions: youth and adult. Categories within those divisions include oil or acrylic paintings, works on paper, photography, digital art and a few more mediums. Participants are limited to three entires per category, except in category six — art depicting the Palmerton Memorial Pool — for which artists are allowed only one.

There is a $5 entry fee for each submitted piece. For pieces submitted the day before the show, that fee increases to $10.

The prize for best in show in the adult division is $100. Local artists will also be able to sell their works in the show’s marketplace.

Admission to see the show is free, but showgoers will be given the chance to purchase tickets for a prize raffle.

For more information about registering for the show, visit the Concourse Club’s website at www.concourseclub.org.
