Ag Progress days

Today is the last day to register for the 2020 Ag Progress Days annual event, hosted by the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences is being offered online in 2020.

Today is the last day tor register for the choice of more than 46 webinar events offered live by Penn State Extension educators.

This event is being offered at no charge to participants.

Blood drive

Cornerstone Community Church, 388 Polk Township Road, Kresgeville, currently has several openings for the American Red Cross blood drive the church is hosting from 1 to 6 p.m. today.

Appointments are needed. Schedule online or call 800-RED-CROSS.

The next Miller-Keystone visit is to the Western Pocono Community Library on Aug. 19.

Ice cream event

The West End Community can come to the Chestnuthill Township Park from 5 to 6 p.m. today for ice cream sundaes.

Drivers are asked to drive through, and under the canopy, and remain in the car.

WEPOSC meeting

The West End Park and Open Space Commission is slated to meet again at 6:30 p.m. today at the Chestnuthill Park Building in Brodheadsville.

Auxiliary meets

The American Legion Auxiliary of Post 927 is slated to meet at 7 tonight at the Post building in Gilbert.

The Executive Committee meets at 6 p.m.

OTOH fundraiser

Operation Touch of Home has a new fundraiser on its website under the online store page: https://operationtouchofhome.org/online-store.

Because OTOH has had to cancel many of its fundraising events this year, members wanted to come up with a way to raise money for OTOH and still provide a way for people to be safe and show their pride. Face coverings can be shipped or the group can make arrangements for drop-off if within a reasonable distance. PayPal is accepted for payment as well as cash.

It is a limited availability face covering of patriotic design. Those who cannot order from the website can call 570-236-9695 to place an order.

PV School Board

The Pleasant Valley School District Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the District Office in Brodheadsville.
