The Palmerton Area School Board heard comments from residents Tuesday night in support of high school principal Paula Husar.

A capacity crowd filled the boardroom at Parkside Elementary Center, many residents who had signed a petition to keep Husar and asking the board not to renew the contract of superintendent Scot Engler.

After about 30 minutes of comments, board president Tammy Recker said the two sides will continue to work toward a positive resolution.

She said the board was made aware of potential issues in March and a mediator was brought in.
