An investigation is under way by Slatington Police after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday night in the borough.
Slatington Police Sgt. David Alercia said the victim, a 64-year-old woman, was crossing the street at Main and Dowell Street, a three-way T intersection, at around 8:40 p.m. when she was hit by the vehicle.After being struck by the vehicle, the victim, whose name police declined to release, was found in the sitting position in the road."At this time, we don't know her condition," said Alercia, who added that the victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries. "At this time, we're investigating, but there's no vehicle description to give out right now."Alercia said no witnesses saw the vehicle strike the victim.Also assisting at the scene were Northern Valley EMS ambulance, as well as Slatington Fire Department's rescue crew.
