Pocono Mountain Regional Police arrested Joel S. Johnson, 31, of Stroudsburg, for shoplifting after he was caught trying to steal items at the Shop Rite Store in Mount Pocono.

Police said the incident happened at 2:44 p.m. Oct. 7 when he was caught attempting to leave the store without paying for $164.79 worth of merchandise.He will receive a citation for retail theft through the magistrate's office.
