Route 903 in Penn Forest Township was shut down early this morning after a tractor-trailer and pickup collided head-on. The crash happened just after 6 a.m. near the intersection with Old Stage Road.

According to reports, the pickup driver was trapped in the vehicle for nearly two hours before being extricated by members of the Penn Forest fire company. The driver was flown to an area hospital.

State police at Fern Ridge are attempting to determine how the north bound pick-up and a south bound tractor trailer collided head-on.

Assisting were the Albrightsville and Lake Harmony fire companies.
