An East Penn resident reported a “twister” struck his 40-acre farm on Tuesday afternoon, leaving several hundred dollars of damages.
Paul Beblavy, who resides off Stone Mountain Road, west of Ashfield, said the unusual storm struck about 2 o’clock and lasted only a minute or two.
He reported he and his wife, Gladys, observed the twister push one hay wagon around in a circle before going several hundred feet into a swamp. A second wagon was lifted up and thrown about 100 feet into a hay field, he said.
Beblavy said about a half-acre of sweet corn being cultivated by his two sons, Robert and Richard, was ruined.
