Dimmick Memorial Library has received a $2,000 grant from the PPL Foundation.
These funds will support the Internet Drop-In and will directly help the Dimmick to provide the public and their patrons with the opportunity to more easily access Internet services.
Some of Dimmick Memorial Library’s patrons do not have a computer or internet access at home, so upgrading some of the library computers will better serve their patrons.
It is part of the Dimmick Memorial Library’s mission to provide free access to information for each and every patron.
As the Dimmick Memorial Library’s President of the Board, John McGuire, states, “The grant gives our director, during today’s tight funding climate, the opportunity to innovate upon and improve the quality of access of scholarly information for our patrons.
“With people shifting to mobile content consumption they expect access to library resources anywhere and anytime, and the DML will be able to provide that access with the upgraded technology and innovated service.”
The PPL Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process.
The Dimmick Memorial Library, in the spirit of the Dimmick Will and Trust, serves as an evolving creative space and focal point for patrons, visitors, and knowledge seekers.
