State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating the theft of $7,400 from the bank account of a 71-year-old Kunkletown woman.

Police said they were called to a residence along Potato Path Road in Polk Township where they were informed someone gained access to the victim’s bank account information for the purpose of making credit card payments and stole the money.

The theft occurred between noon Aug. 1, 2019, and noon June 30 of this year, police said.
