Northeast Pennsylvania’s premiere automotive event, the Palmerton Car Show, was held on Saturday in Palmerton Borough Park.
The show was hosted by the Pace-Makers Association and featured nearly 300 cars and trucks, as well as Transformers replica vehicles.
Palmerton Borough Park was full of the many people who decided to take advantage of Saturday’s beautiful weather, including Brad and Candy Wallace of Lehighton, who stopped by the park to show off their 1914 Ford Model T.
“It’s our first time here,” said Wallace. “We usually don’t enter that many car shows but I’m glad we stopped by.”
Replica models of the Transformers — Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Barricade — made a special appearance at the show. The world’s first fan-built replica of Optimus Prime started out as a 2017 Western Star 5700, as a way for a “middle-class dad to show his son that all dreams are possible with hard work and dedication.”
Awards were given out to only the best of the best in 25 different categories including best paint job, best engine, best street rod, best convertible and best muscle car.
Proceeds of The Palmerton Car Show will benefit local youth recreation and sports organizations.
