Kidder Twp. waiting on grant for traffic light

According to Kidder Township manager Lisa Klem, the township has the drawings and the necessary permits from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for the new traffic light that is slated to be constructed at Lake Drive and Route 903.

"We are ready to proceed," Klem said. "But we still haven't heard anything about the grant."Klem says that she has been making inquiries into the grant for the traffic light and another grant for the purchase of a police cruiser but has not gotten final word on the awarding of either yet.The township will be proceeding on the expansion of the parking area at the municipal building and is hoping to add a small recreation area there as well. The property, which was donated to the township will add more space for parking and for the township's recycling bins. After Thursday evening's meeting, Klem swore in a new township fire police officer.
