Nancy Hertzog, 10-year treasurer of the Palmerton Area Historical Society, resigned the position. At the annual August picnic held at Bert Holczman's farm she was presented with a plaque in recognition of her effort. The plaque said, "Nancy Hertzog served actively and with distinction as treasurer. She enthusiastically gave her time and energy in promotion of the mission of the society and maintained good and accurate financial records. … The board of directors extends its thanks and appreciation." She also received a necklace - Wings of Glory, Angel of Hope. Upon trying it on she said it is just perfect. The presentations were made by Secretary Betsy Burnhauser, left.
