Carbon County Commissioner Chris Lukasevich moved to alleviate concerns regarding tax collections and the county’s revenue at Thursday’s meeting.
“To date, we have collected just under $15 million in taxes,” said Lukasevich.
“The amount isn’t so much as the fact that we’re right on target where we were last year when it comes to percentage of tax collected at this point.
“So we’re right under the 80% mark; we’re within three-quarters of a percentage point of last year’s collection rate. So we look real good when it comes to real estate property tax collections.”
