A White Haven man is facing multiple felony charges after police said he deliberately ran his vehicle into another and then deliberately struck the other driver when he got out of his vehicle, seriously injuring him.
Kidder Township police said at 10:12 a.m. Wednesday they investigated a hit-and-run of a pedestrian on Route 940 near White Haven.
Through the investigation it was determined that David Parker Jr., 24, purposely struck the rear of the vehicle of Andrew Lovett. Lovett then got out of his vehicle and Parker struck Lovett with his vehicle and left the scene.
Lovett was flown by medical helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, for treatment of his injuries.
Police said Parker was taken into custody later that evening and charged with the following counts: criminal attempt of aggravated assault by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, all felonies; and also charges of reckless endangering another person, accidents involving attended vehicle, both misdemeanors; and three summary violations.
Parker was arraigned before a district judge and incarcerated in Carbon County prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $100,000 straight cash bail.
