LCCC offers online and remote classes for fall 2020

Registration for the fall semester at Lehigh Carbon Community College is currently underway with classes being offered in an online or remote format. Classes begin Aug. 22. The virtual instruction used in spring and summer will continue as will virtual support services, including testing, counseling, advising and more.

As long as the state is under red or yellow restrictions, all credit courses will be offered online or remotely. If the state moves to a green status prior to the start of the fall semester, a select number of hands-on or equipment-based courses will include a face-to-face element. Courses or programs that would transition to face-to-face in green status include:

Art (lectures will continue to be online)

Aviation

BGT technology courses

Construction Management

Culinary Arts

Heating and Air Conditioning

Kitchen and Bath Design

Mechanical Technology - MET and MTD

Medical Assisting labs

Nursing classes and labs

Occupational Therapy Assistant labs

Physical Therapist Assistant labs

SEED

Veterinary Technician labs

Visual Media and Production - select courses

Workforce Development Training

Also if the state continues in green status, the college will develop additional face-to-face courses for the last seven weeks of the fall semester, including general education courses. Otherwise these courses will be offered in an online or remote format. This schedule is currently in development and will be posted to the course search online in early June.

The explanation of the different types of class formats is included in the course search: https://www.lccc.edu/course-and-text-book-search.

New students can apply for admission online at www.lccc.edu. Continuing or currently enrolled students can set up a phone appointment with an advisor by sending an email to adviseme@lccc.edu.

Those seeking a degree must complete a placement test, or meet requirements for exemption, and meet with an advisor, conducted remotely via Zoom, before registering for classes.
