Two people were arrested for a theft incident that occurred last month.
State police at Frackville said Michael Sedlock, 28, of Tamaqua, and Joseph Holland, 34, of Mahanoy City, have been charged in connection with a theft from a motor vehicle incident that occurred on April 21 along Old Route 209 in Schuylkill Township, near Tuscarora.Troopers said a bucket truck, a 2013 Ford F550, being used to install new fiber-optic cable in the area, was broken into. The storage bins on the truck were pried open/or cut open to gain entry.Taken was various materials such as 100 "'A" frame aluminum rollers, a Husqvarna chain saw, 1,000 feet of coaxial cable, a hardhat, rope, assorted hand tools, bolt cutters, to 20V drills with five batteries, a few hundred feet of galvanized strand cable and other items with a total value of $4,330.The truck and equipment is owned by Advanced Fiber Works of Clifton, New Jersey.On April 22 about 1:30 p.m. Sedlock attempted to turn in some of the stolen items for scrap at the Hometown Scrap/Recycling yard located along Lincoln Drive in Rush Township.Officers from Rush and Tamaqua responded and took Sedlock into custody until troopers arrived. Sedlock also had an active bench warrant for his arrest at the time.Troopers charged Sedlock with attempted theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and attempted dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities.He was arraigned before on-call District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $15,000 percentage bail.On Monday a search warrant was executed on a 1995 Ford Taurus owned by Holland.Inside the vehicle was discovered several more items taken from the truck entry.Holland was charged with receiving stolen property through the office of District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua. Bail was set at $10,000 straight cash.Holland is currently an inmate in the county prison on other charges.
