Heffley wins fifth term in Pa. House

Rep. Doyle Heffley easily defeated challenger Kara Scott to win his fifth term in the state House of Representatives.

Heffley, a Republican from Lower Towamensing Township, had 14,033 votes to Scott's 6,853. Scott, a Democrat, serves as president of Bowmanstown Borough Council.

He was first elected in 2010.

"It’s very humbling to put your name on the ballot and be elected. Going into my fifth term, it’s extremely humbling," Heffley said  at his victory gathering Tuesday night. "It’s a lot of work, it’s a lot of time away from the family, and we’ve been trying to strike that balance."
