Carbon County commissioners on Thursday hired six part-time correction officers.

All were already approved by the county prison board and begin their new jobs on May 8.They are Terry A. Gonzalez, Lansford; William G. Gower, Girardville; James C. Pavelco, Palmerton; Heather A. Remaley, Slatington; Christina M. Sanchez, Jim Thorpe; and William R. Shearer, Lehighton.Commissioners also awarded internships with the Area Agency on Aging to Carrie A. Ball, Palmerton, and Casey Osifat of Washington's Crossing. The internships are from May 30 through Aug. 11.
