Living Hope Lighthouse Church

Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, will continue to video record the worship service on Sunday and post it on their Facebook page and on the website at http://lhlchurch.com/messages.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) will hold a drive-in worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. This will continue until the coronavirus no-social gathering orders are lifted. Worshippers are asked to remain in their vehicles and tune to FM 104.3 to hear the service. You can also check it out on the church website and Facebook.

Church picnic

The Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville has canceled their Sunday School Picnic which was scheduled for June 27. It will not be rescheduled.

Food pantry

The CACPAC sponsored Palmerton Area Food Pantry will be held on Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton. This will again be a drive-thru event. Please stay in your vehicle and follow instructions given by volunteers. There is no need to be preregistered. You must be a resident of Palmerton Area School District. If you are unable to attend you can have someone else be your proxy and pick up for you.

The food pantry is always in need of food items. At this time they are in need of personal items such as soap, body wash, shampoos, toothpaste, deodorants, etc. Items may be dropped off at 452 Lafayette Ave., 459 Lafayette Ave., and 1002 Third St. Boxes will be on the porches for the donations.

St. John’s Lutheran

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton will begin its summer worship hours on Sunday. The drive-in worship service on Sunday will begin at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Jody will lead the service through an amplification system in the parking lot so all can hear. Come and join in the service.

JUCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will again be livestreaming on Facebook beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday. The video will also be on the website.

The annual two-day flea market has been rescheduled for Aug. 14 and 15 in the church grove.

Palmerton Area Library Teens

Hosted by the Palmerton Area Library, the teen group has planned an event called Dot Paint Rock Mandala which will be held Monday from 1-1:30 p.m. Details: make a beautiful painted mandala rock with items from around the house. You will need: a smooth circular rock about 5 inches across (it may help to paint the rock in the base color and let it dry before watching the tutorial), a chap stick or glue stick lid, a pencil, some toothpicks, a few cotton swabs with paper sticks - not plastic, some white paint or glue (this is to coat the tip of some of the cotton swabs with in order to make a dotting tool. You will also need paints: acrylic, multi-surface, craft paint or even nail polish. Tune in to the tutorial.
