The annual Lansford Memorial Day Program scheduled for May 25 at Kennedy Park has been amended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Garland-Manak-Boyle-Zonca-Whitehead American Legion Post 123 will conduct a very brief ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. in front of the Post Home with a prayer, Memorial Day remarks by Post Commander Nate Krajcirik and reading of Lansford deceased veterans since Memorial Day 2019 followed by a rifle salute and taps by the Post Honor Guard.
A salute to the dead will also be conducted at the monuments on East Abbott Street, the monument at St. Nicholas Church at Center and West Bertsch Street, and at Kennedy Park.
