The Carbon County Animal Response Team is seeking the owner of a stray pot belly pig found Tuesday afternoon wandering behind Keystone Harley and Blue Mountain Machine.

The pig was found about 1:15 p.m., but CART representative Frank Beckett said it is believed he pig was spotted Monday and as far back as Saturday.

The pig was spotted making its way close to Route 248 when concerned motorists and area business workers started calling the Carbon County communications center.

Franklin Township Chief of Police Jason Doll and CART members responded. CART members walked along with the pig, feeding it pretzels until it walked right into a kennel box.

The critter roamed the area for about two hours before being picked up.

Beckett said he called a veterinarian for advice on  the pig. He was told since the pig has longer hair it could be an indoor/outdoor animal.

He said the pig is in good condition and in a shelter being housed, fed, and given water.
