Class of 1948

The annual gathering of the Palmerton Area High School Class of 1948, which was to be held at Bert’s Steakhouse on May 21, has been canceled due to the coronavirus. Any questions, call Norman Eckhart at 610-826-3218.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton invites you to their Zoom Worship on Sunday. Worship is at 10 a.m.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) will conduct worship on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the church parking lot for a drive-in service transmitted to your car radio. Also watch for videos on Facebook.

St. John’s Lutheran Church

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton will again be hosting a 10:30 a.m. drive-in service on Sunday. Pastor Jody will lead the service through an amplification system in the parking lot so all can hear. Come and join in the service.

Minecraft Digital Escape Room

This event is sponsored by the Palmerton Library Teens. It will be held from 7-7:30 p.m. May 12.

Check the event page at 7 p.m. for the link to enter the digital escape room. This is open to miners of all ages.

Zinc City

The Zinc City Motorcycle Club has postponed the Youth Drag Academy, date to be decided at a later time. The Spring Bike Run has also been canceled.

Everyone will be posted of the upcoming club meetings.

Summer concert update

The Concourse Club anticipates the first summer concert to be July 5 at 7 p.m. in the Palmerton Borough Park. The club remains hopeful that we can share in some outdoor entertainment this summer.

As safety of our community is the primary concern, they will post updates to this schedule as guidelines become clearer.

Carbon County Food Distribution

Carbon County Rolling out Emergency Food Distribution will be at the Palmerton Area High School, Fireline Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Friday. This is a drive-thru distribution only. You must stay in your car. This is for residents of the Palmerton area only. There will be one box per car.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville. Will again livestream on Facebook beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. If you cannot view at that time, the recordings are available afterward to view on the website homepage at http://www.jerusalemucc.org or on Facebook.
