A Monroe County man was jail charged with attempted homicide for an incident that occurred on Saturday.

State police at Lehighton said Yasin Hart, 34, of Kunkletown, was arrested following the incident that occurred about 5 p.m. on the 1300 block of Kunkletown Road.Troopers said Hart and a 32-year-old woman were engaged in a physical altercation.During the fight police said Hart struck the female with a closed fist and a baseball bat multiple times.Hart took the woman to the St. Luke's Wind Gap medical facility and then left.Hart was caught a short time later along Route 33 and charged with the attempted homicide and related counts.He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Snydersville in lieu of bail.
