Community meal
A free community meal will be held from 4-6 p.m. May 23 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a free meal and fellowship.
Breakfast buffet
An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will be served from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, OJ, coffee, tea and milk.
Dinner is served Wednesday and Friday evenings.
Barbecue
Salem United Methodist Church, 4145 Forest Inn Road, Aquashicola is having a barbecue. Meal includes half chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, homemade desserts. Eat in or take out. Call 570-386-4861 for tickets and information.
Carnival
Crusaders for a Cause will hold its annual carnival in the Palmerton Borough Park on May 16, 17 and 18. Thursday hours are 6-10 p.m., Friday 5-10 p.m. and Saturday 4-11 p.m.
Wing night
Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, 259 Lime St., Bowmanstown will hold a wing night from 6-9 p.m. May 23.
Blood drive
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) is hosting its third Miller-Keystone Blood Drive from 9 a.m. to noon June 1. Picnic and fundraiser
A picnic and fundraiser to benefit Jennifer Costenbader and daughters will be held at the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club Grove, 225 Gun Club Road, Palmerton from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Picnic style platters will be served with chicken or beef barbecue, potato or macaroni salad, applesauce, chips and drink for $10 per person. Additional food items available. Live music by Donna Parsons at 2 p.m. A Chinese auction will be held with the drawing at 4:30 p.m. A bake sale, 50/50 raffle and lottery board will be held. Bring a lawn chair. Benefit will be rain or shine.
Park concerts
The Palmerton Bandstand summer concerts in the Borough Park are here once again. The schedule is as follows: June 2, Palmerton Band; June 9, Perseverance Jazz Band; June 16, Who Knows; June 23, Steel Creek; June 30, Palmerton Band; July 7, Large Flowerheads; July 14, Sunshine Symphony; July 21, Marine Band of Allentown; July 28, New Individuals; Aug. 4, The Penna. Villagers; Aug. 11, Hazleton Band; Aug. 18, Palmerton Band. All concerts are 7-8:30 p.m. No rain dates. Bring a lawn chair. No smoking or vaping is allowed in the Borough Park.
