Tobyhanna Lake Beach closed to swimming

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has closed the beach to swimming at Tobyhanna State Park in Monroe County, effective Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 3 due to high bacterial levels in water samples taken on Aug. 1.

The beach will remain closed as a precaution until acceptable water sample results are received.

Other activities at Tobyhanna State Park such as picnicking, fishing, boating and hiking are proceeding as usual.

DCNR has posted signs at the beach.

Please note that lake swimming is available at nearby Gouldsboro State Park.
