Most students look forward to prom as a highlight of their junior or senior year.
COVID-19 has made it impossible for students to enjoy that big night. However, a Schuylkill County photographer wanted to help make the best of the situation and give them a reason to show off their prom attire.
“Obviously prom and graduation is too many people in one place,” said Mary Sajone of Shenandoah. “I thought, let me see what I can find a place that will let me have people come by appointment and get pictures. A lot of the kids, I’ve seen on social media, have their prom stuff already.”
Thanks to Sajone’s proactiveness, Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville will host Sajone and any students who want prom pictures each Saturday in May from 3-6 p.m.
“Mountain Valley was key,” Sajone said. “I needed a place, I needed a big outdoor space outside that we wouldn’t be close together.”
The free prom pictures are open to any high school students regardless of grade level, and each participant will sign a waiver.

“The feedback has been very positive. … I would say right now more than half of the spots are taken.”
