Schuylkill County judges accepted guilty pleas from people charged by local police.
All of the defendants were ordered to pay court costs and fees.Joseph Lakitsky, 79, of New Ringgold: Charged by the Pennsylvania Game Commission with violating Pennsylvania Game Commission rules and regulations, and improper use of artificial or natural bait on Oct. 29, 2016, in East Brunswick Township.Lakitsky pleaded guilty to improper use of artificial or natural bait; the rules charge was dropped.Judge Charles M. Miller fined Lakitsky $150.The case came before Miller because Lakitsky appealed a guilty ruling by District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg, on Jan. 17.Richard Hornbeck, 47, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance on Sept. 30, 2015.He pleaded guilty to the possession charge, and Miller sentenced him to 65 days to one year in jail.He was granted immediate parole.William H. Ladlee, 36, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with criminal trespass on Dec. 10, 2016.Judge John E. Domalakes sentenced him to one to two years in state prison.Charles L. Thatcher, 20, of Coaldale: Charged by Coaldale police with resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 28, 2016.Domalakes sentenced him to 53 days to time to 12 months in jail.Nicholas E. Yasson, 49, of Coaldale: Charged by Coaldale police with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Sept. 29, 2016.Domalakes sentenced him to one to 12 months in jail.Daniel J. Leibenguth, 43, of Tamaqua: Charged by West Penn Township police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance; possession of a small amount of marijuana; use/possession of drug paraphernalia; and driving without headlights on Feb. 7, 2016.He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.Domalakes sentenced him to 72 hours to six months in jail, followed by 12 months probation, fined him $1,000, and ordered him to perform 10 hours of community service.The charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and driving without headlights were dropped.Joseph J. Michaels, 26, of Barnesville: Charged by Ryan Township police with theft from a motor vehicle; theft by unlawful taking; and receiving stolen property on Aug. 31, 2016.He pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from a motor vehicle.Domalakes sentenced him to 90 days to five years in prison, fined him $1,500, ordered him to pay $1,570 restitution and perform 20 hours community service.The remaining charges were dropped.Chelsea L. Walters, 24, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia on Dec. 31, 2016.She pleaded guilty, and Domalakes sentenced her to one to five months in jail followed by 12 months' probation.Jonathon R. Kechula, 42, of Barnesville: Charged by Mahanoy City police with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer; driving under the influence; recklessly endangering another person; resisting arrest; driving while his operating privileges were suspended or revoked; and aggravated assault on June 16, 2016.He pleaded guilty to fleeing or eluding police, driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving under suspension.Domalakes sentenced him to one to 12 months in jail, fined him $500, and ordered him to perform 10 hours of community service.The remaining charges were dropped.Tina M. Miller, 54, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension, and failing to obey a stop sign on July 6, 2015.Domalakes sentenced her to 12 months of probation, and fined her $200.The stop sign charge was dropped.Phillip M. Ryan IV, 28, of Tamaqua: Charged by state police at Frackville with accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property, driving under suspension, failure to notify police of accident, operating vehicle without valid inspection and violation of use of certificate; unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving unregistered vehicle, operating vehicle without required financial responsibility, disregarding traffic lane, failure to drive at a safe speed, abandoning vehicle, careless driving, failure to stop and give information, operating with unsafe equipment and a seat belt violation on June 12, 2015.He pleaded guilty to an accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property, driving under suspension, failure to notify police of accident, operating vehicle without valid inspection, and violation of use of certificate.Domalakes sentenced him to 60 to 90 days in jail, followed by 12 months of probation, and fined him $1,375.The remaining charges were dropped.Gary J. Schrepple Jr., 29, of Barnesville: Charged by state police at Schuylkill Haven with retail theft on Sept. 20, 2016.Domalakes sentenced him to 14 months of probation, and to pay $3.38 restitution.Rocci A. Schuima III, 38, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment on Dec. 11, 2016.He pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.Domalakes sentenced him to 12 months of probation. Two counts each of simple assault and harassment were dropped.Judith A. Allen, 60, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with retail theft and false identification to police on Aug, 18, 2016.She pleaded guilty to the theft charge, and Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced her to one to 11 months in jail.Charges of false identification to law enforcement and public drunkenness were dropped.Joseph Kamant, 24, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with possession of drug paraphernalia, accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property and driving under suspension, and careless driving on Oct. 14, 2016.He pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property and driving under suspension.Dolbin sentenced him to 12 months of probation, and fined him $200.The charge of careless driving was dropped.Terrence L. Moore, 30, of Lansford: Charged by Coaldale police with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on March 4, 2016.Dolbin sentenced him to 12 months of probation.Victoria L. Schmitt, 42, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with harassment on July 29, 2016.Dolbin sentenced her to 12 months of probation, and ordered her to have no contact with the victim.
