State police at Lehighton are investigating an email scam involving a Carbon County resident.

Troopers said a 53-year-old woman from Towamensing Township reported she was receiving emails requiring her to pay $2,000 in bitcoins. The incident was reported at 5:38 p.m. on April 27.
