McAdoo police charge driver with DUI

A Bloomsburg man who made an illegal turn on red at East Grant Street and Kennedy Drive in McAdoo was charged with two counts of driving under the influence by McAdoo police.

Jacob Gutshall, 18, was charged after the incident at 10:32 p.m. March 6.

Police said after he made the turn at a “No Turn On Red” intersection, police stopped the car and smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of “shake,” minute pieces of marijuana under the driver’s seat, police said. Police said during field sobriety tests, Gutshall showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and taken for a blood test, which showed THC in the man’s system.
