DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A suburban Philadelphia man with a tattoo of fictional cannibal serial killer Hannibal Lecter is facing at least three years in prison for biting off most of another man's right ear during an attack outside a bar on St. Patrick's Day.
The Bucks County Courier Times reported Wednesday (http://bit.ly/1wBkDiC ) that the judge heard testimony at the sentencing hearing that 24-year-old James Worthington has bitten people before.
Police recovered part of the ear in a Newtown parking lot. Worthington, an amateur boxer, took the stand to call the incident tragic and say he feels terrible about it.
Worthington's sentence included an assault on an ex-girlfriend and possession of anabolic steroids.
The judge was told Worthington bit another student in high school, his father in 2006 and someone's arm at a wedding.
