Woman admits calling in fake prescriptions

A Carbon County woman pleaded guilty in three pending criminal cases in the county court, admitting she called in phony prescriptions to area pharmacies.

Judith Karin Sabol, 36, of Summit Hill, pleaded to two counts of acquiring or obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and identity theft before Judge Steven R. Serfass.She was charged by Jim Thorpe police with calling in a fraudulent prescription to the First National Pharmacy on May 24, 2014. That was declined, and she then called it in to the Mauch Chunk Pharmacy.She was also charged by Lansford police with doing the same thing at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Jan. 6. She attempted it again on Jan. 8 at the CVS Pharmacy in Nesquehoning. One of the prescriptions was filled.Sabol is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges.Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation department to prepare a presentence investigation report.
