One vote decides supervisor race, with write-in vote to be counted

Exciting contests for supervisor were feature in four area townships according to the unofficial returns from Tuesday's General Municipal Election.

Schuylkill TownshipA one-vote difference separated the winner and loser for a supervisor seat with one write-in vote which will be counted at a later date.Charles J. Fayash, Republican, received 188 votes, and Linda A. DeCindio, Democrat, 187.There was no contest for tax collector with Paul Delpais, Republican, receiving 338 votes.For the seat as auditor, a six-year term, there were no candidates on the ballot but there were 13 write-in votes.Delano TownshipIt was a close race for supervisor with John S. Wolfgang, Democrat, receiving 74 votes to defeat Jason Scarcella, Republican, who received 68 votes. There was only one write-in vote.There was no contest for tax collector as Ann Pascavage, Demoocrat, received 133 votes.For the auditor six year seat, Nancy J. Derr, Democrat, was unopposed and received 127 votes.West Penn TownshipThere were no contests and the winners were:Supervisor, Ted Bogosh, Republican, 505 votes.Tax collector, Helene Zeigler, 549 votes.Auditor, six-year term, Delroy R. Haas, Republican, 498 votes.Rush TownshipThere were no contests and the winners were:Supervisor, Shawn Gilbert, 596 votes.Tax Collector, Dolores Walck, 656 votes.Auditor, six-year term, no candidate on ballot but there were 36 write-in in votes to be counted at a later date.Ryan TownshipThere were no contests and the winners were:Supervisor, Franklin R. Wesner, Republican, defeated his Democratic opponent, Joseph Landue for a six-year term as supervisor. The final tally was Wesner, 412, and Landue, 138.In the race for tax collection Republican Stephen J. Sheer won over Democrat Diane Minneci, 301 to 241.In other offices, auditor, six year, Melanie M. Wallace, Republican, got 417 votes; auditor, four year, Bruce Yourechko Jr., Republican, got 449 votes; judge of election Carol Sanko, Republican, 436; and inspector of election, Roseann Vigna, Republican, 344, to Eugene Moisey, Democrat, 181.
