Everyone in the world is trying to adapt to the “new norm.”
In education, remote or online learning is now a necessity.
According to a press release, all students in the diocese’s schools, in grades K-12, will have formal instruction for online learning via laptops, iPads, smartphones or through prepared paper packets of lessons if they do not have access to technology.
St. Jerome Regional School in Tamaqua is ready to move forward.
“Throughout the weeks we have not been in our building, we have also stayed connected with our families through our social media pages,” said Principal Amy Hannis-Miskar.
“Please be sure to check out our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Pages to see how awesome our families have been!”
Hannis-Miskar and her staff have posted many updates on the school website regarding changes due to COVID-19. Families receive an email, voicemail and text each time there is something new to communicate.
All of St. Jerome’s teacher pages are updated with links to Google Classroom. The school’s computer teacher provided how-to videos for families as they transition to the online curriculum.
