Bake sale

A bake sale and luncheon with ethnic foods for sale will be held at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 102 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 30.

PTO basket social

The S.S. Palmer/Parkside PTO Basket Social and bake sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 24 at Palmerton Area High School, 3525 Fireline Road. Hot foods will be available for sale. There will be a raffle for a recliner from Hager’s Furniture. Drawing at 3 p.m.

Booster Club

In-person registration for the 2019 season will be held from 10 a.m. to noon March 24 at the Palmerton Area High School, 3525 Fireline Road. Everyone coming to sign up please bring updated/current insurance cards. Any football player signing up who didn’t play last year will need to bring their birth certificate.

Bus trip

The Friends of the Palmerton Area Library are sponsoring a bus trip to the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg and the Broad Street Market on April 6. The bus leaves Palmerton at 8 a.m. and returns at 5 p.m. Contact the Palmerton Area Library at 610-826-3424 for more information.

Lenten services

Five area churches join together each year for Wednesday evening Lenten Services. Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, St. Matthew’s UCC, and Salem United Church of Christ will hold a joint service on March 27 at Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, Kresgeville. The preacher will be Randy Lentz. The theme will be “Do Not Worry.”

A simple soup supper will be held from 6-6:45 p.m. Worship will begin at 7 p.m. Choir rehearsal will be at 6:30 p.m. Choir members from all churches are invited to sing each week.

Dandelion dinner

An all-you-can-eat ham and dandelion dinner will be served at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville), from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on March 30. Ticket includes meal, dessert and drink. For tickets, call 610-681-5200. Walk-in welcome and takeouts available.

Easter filling sale

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) is taking orders for filling. Orders will be take through March 31. Pickup at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 7 and 14. To order and for prices, call 610-377-4936 or contact the church at 610-681-4412.

JUCC

Worship services will be held at 9 and 10:30 a.m. March 24 at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville. One Great Hour of Sharing will be observed. This is a special offering designated toward global ministries and helping people around the world become sustainable in their own communities. Come and be part of this worldwide mission.

Community meal

A free community meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. March 28 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a meal and fellowship.
