Preschool hour
Panther Valley public library will be holding preschool story hour every Tuesday, beginning at 10 a.m. This program is open to children ages 3-5.
Children will enjoy a story, do a craft and have a snack.
The program will run every Tuesday until May 14.

Nesquehoning
VFW Auxiliary meeting
The next meeting of the Nesquehoning VFW Auxiliary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 12 at the post home.
Business will include the nomination and election of officers for the 2019-20 year.
All members are urged to attend.
VFW activities
The Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008 will hold a Loyalty Day ceremony at 7 p.m. on May 1 at the post home, 300 E. Center St.
The installation of officers for the post and auxiliary will take place at 7 p.m. on May 24 at the post home.
Memorial Day activities
The Nesquehoning VFW and UVO will honor the fallen veterans with small ceremonies at the outlying cemeteries on May 26. Members will leave the post at noon and travel to various cemeteries and monuments throughout the borough.
The Nesquehoning Memorial Day parade and program will take place on May 27.
The parade kicks off on the west end of Catawissa Street, at the veterans monument at 8:30 a.m. and ends at the post home, where a memorial program will take place. All are invited.
Panther Valley Senior center
The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of April 8-12 is:
Monday: Open hot pork sandwich, mashed potatoes, green beans, fruited Jello or chicken Caesar salad.
Tuesday: Chicken Parmesan, penne pasta, broccoli, pears or Italian sandwich
Wednesday: Beef teriyaki, brown rice, Asian vegetables, orange or spinach salad with chicken
Thursday: Roast turkey, oven potatoes, peas and onions, cookie or Reuben sandwich
Friday: Onion soup, salmon Caesar salad, cucumber salad, apple slices
The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced upcoming events for April 8-12.
Sunshine Meeting on April 8 at 10 a.m. followed by Nickel-Keeno; Birthday Bingo on April 9 at 11 a.m.; Zumba on April 10 at 10 a.m. followed by Horse racing; Yahtzee on April 11 at 11 a.m.; Movie and Popcorn on April 12 at 10 a.m.
